After bruising my hips several time during falls and hard hits I bought one of these to see if it would protect me. Not only did it protect me from further hip injuries, it provides the cushion for me to apply much more effective hits on the track.
I skate for Salt City Derby Girls and I am LOVING IT! I've had these pads for over a month now and even though they run a little large, I can still wear my bootie shorts over them.

These fit comfortably, and fit great under baggier shorts. I usually just wear them alone at practice. They run big. I wear a size 12/14 pants, and ended up returning my size large for a medium. I have fallen HARD on my tailbone and hips a few times with these on, and didn't even get a bruise.

Coaching a new league, I've seen almost every one of my ladies injure their tailbone. Save you bum! Safety is sexy.
